We are enjoying the Gijalordi Print collection from the Girringun Community in Queensland (near Cardwell). Â The framed prints are a travelling show which was exhibited at Kick Arts in Cairns and which will be shown elsewhere in Australia before travelling to Canada. Â The community was assisted by both the Federal and Qld Government and various sponsors with the creation of the prints to help them recover from Cyclone Yasi. Â Each tells a part of the story about how the Kingfisher created the river and the collection comprises a charming range of creatures involved in this traditional story. Â Stunning examples of fine print making by Editions Tremblay (with an edition size of 20 in the main), they are figurative, light and very refreshing.
