Stunning paintings by Magda Nakamarra Curtis were featured in our Gallery window space on Victoria Road during June.

These have also been featured when Tali Gallery created a set design for NITV for a seminar at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, conceived by Executive Producer of  NITV Current Affairs, Catherine Liddle, ‘The ACOSS-NCIE Media Forum, Telling our Stories for a More Inclusive Society” which will be screened on the Awaken television program.   They have now returned to the Gallery on Darling Street.

“Lappi Lappi Jukurrpa” tells of a very special waterhole, crucial to the survival of Walpiri people for eons.  The complexity of Magda Curtis’s artwork appears to correlate to the complexities of traditional knowledge and the laws of the land and survival information held and conveyed over countless generations.   You can find further artworks by Magda on our website:
