Tali Gallery works with several urban artists who paint in a contemporary aesthetic at the same time as conveying teachings from their forebears with stories handed down concerning Ancestral travels, songlines, knowledge of the earth, Aboriginal symbols and the importance of kinship and connection.
The white painting is by Elisa Jane Carmichael (Ngugi Clan)Â from North Stradbroke Island and tells of the salt water crabs. Â Leecee’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in London.
The striking barramundi painting  is by Anthony Walker and is called ‘Mallakarra’.
The black and white painting  is a collaboration by Sarrita and Tarisse King, young urban artists of Gurindji (Katherine) heritage, with the red line expressing the bloodline, or connection between these two sisters.
