Tali Gallery was delighted to organise a special commission for a Canberra Institution of an exceptional natural ochre and pigment painting by Mary Punchi Clements from Kalumburu in W.A.  The paintings feature the Gwion Gwion figures which are the subject of the ancient rock paintings in the Kimberley, known as the  “Bradshaws”.  Two canvases measuring 2.4m in height x 1.2m width were painted by Mary, with the Gwion Gwion ‘dancing’ among the bush foods and medicines important to survival in the bush in this region.
