Tali Gallery was proud to design and present an exhibit of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Artwork and Crafts as well as merchandise which produces an income stream for Australian Aboriginal artists, at the 2014 Rotary International Convention held at Olympic Park in Sydney.
This was commissioned by Rotary Strathfield as a fundraiser for this philanthropic organisation.  Yhanni designed the layout of the stand and was responsible for the organisational aspects while Di sourced and displayed the art and crafts and merchandise on sale.  There was a highly positive response to the art exhibition on the external walls and the various exhibits within and artworks were bought by people from all over the world.  Traditional Milingimbi Art and Culture Centre artists who travelled from Arnhem Land provided a draw card at one end of the stand where their artists demonstrated bark painting, weaving and yidaki playing; while urban Aboriginal Artist, Winston Walford, explained his highly contemporary Milky Way paintings and his highly precise dotting technique at the other. Australian delegates stated their pride in the exhibit and international delegates from over 100 countries enjoyed browsing, shopping and discovering the beauty of Aboriginal Art! These are photographs of some of the exhibits within our stand, some of the Tali Team involved, visitors who packed the stand and loved it, and the collection of beautiful Aboriginal creations and merchandise which was added to and ch anged daily:
